腹股沟直疝常见于发育异常、老年人、长期便秘等的人群，其病因主要是腹壁强度降低或者腹内压力增高引起。
1.发育异常：如果是腹白线发育不全的人群，会成为腹壁薄弱点，导致腹股沟直疝的发生。除此之外，鞘突不闭锁、闭锁不完全等先天发育异常也是腹股沟直疝的主要病因。
2.老年人：对于老年人来说，由于体弱或者久病，可能会出现腹壁神经损伤，进而导致肌肉萎缩，腹壁肌肉功能下降，进而导致腹股沟直疝的发生。
3.长期便秘：对于长期便秘的人群，会导致腹内压增高，腹内压持续或者瞬间的增高也会诱发腹股沟直疝的发生。
