伤口拆线的好处是可以保持伤口部位的卫生状况，避免感染的发生，使伤口可以更好的恢复。弊端是拆线的过程中很可能会导致伤口重新裂开，导致患者的伤口部位恢复不当，并且拆线的过程中还会产生剧烈的疼痛感。不拆线的好处就是可以避免伤口部位产生牵拉，导致二次损伤的出现，同时也可以在家进行休养。弊端是由于人体的吸收可能会需要更长的恢复时间，甚至有些人可能会发生过敏。不利于伤口的恢复。
伤口拆线和不拆线和使用的原材料有很大的关系，如果是使用可吸收的肉线进行缝合，此种状态下的伤口在恢复之后并不需要进行拆线。但是如果是使用普通的丝线进行缝合，在伤口恢复之后往往需要通过拆线来避免伤口愈合不当或是引发感染的出现。
拆线的过程中虽然可能会出现一定的疼痛，但是大多数的人都是可以忍受的，所以不需要过于担心，不过在拆线之前，一定要注意先让医生针对个人的伤口部位进行检查，确定伤口完全愈合之后再进行拆线。
